Life & Work

An epoch maker who lived a complete life.

The Movement

A polymath of rare breadth — scholar, philosopher, economist, gemmologist and sociologist — Dr. Parnerkar carried his teaching directly to the people, travelling extensively and transforming lives across India through spiritual preceptorship.

The Doctrine

In 1947 he propounded Poornawad — Absolutism — establishing that mind and matter are two sides of the same coin, both essential and interdependent for complete living. The doctrine has since been cited as the Fifth Veda.

The Scholar

His enquiry ranged from philosophy and cosmogony to economics, drawing freely from both Eastern and Western streams of thought. He submitted a thesis on The Origin of the Universe to the University of Berlin, and set down an economic treatise on the valuation of labour and the inefficiencies in food distribution.

The Innate Force

He held that while the circumstances of one's birth lie beyond the individual's control, the motivation to live life on one's own terms is innate — wholly one's own. It is this very force, he believed, that led humanity to explore nature and give rise to every art-form, science and stream of thought, each born to serve and enrich human life.

Poornawad Philosophy

Mind and matter — two sides of the same coin.

The revolutionary doctrine propounded in 1947, establishing that the material and the spiritual are not opposites but interdependent aspects of a single, complete existence — the philosophical foundation of the entire Poorna Life movement.

His Core Belief

Living a healthy and happy life is, was and should be the centerpiece of any science, art-form or stream of thought.

Anything otherwise, he held, leads to that art-form or science becoming obsolete — for every branch of knowledge came into being to enable a fuller human life, and must remain true to that purpose.
